Important Attendance Notice

It has been noted that certain students attendance in art classes has dropped since late November. The leaving cert art course is a large course to cover so all students are expected to attend every art class unless they have a genuine reason that they cannot. Those who are not attending class regularly will be reported to Miriam De Barra next week. Extra classes are also going to be arranged very soon for the purpose of the Art History Exam. This will hopefully be arranged for next week.

Poster and Perliminary sheet deadline is today!!

I am collecting your finished posters and preliminary sheets in todays lesson. These will be marked and combined with your Life Drawing Exam mark for your total Christmas Exam result.

I added a new page to the blog with recourses/video tutorials for the Still Life Drawing Exam. These are very helpful so please view these and keep practicing your own drawing at home. The more you practice the beter your drawings will become. Remember that your Still Life Drawing Exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes long and you can use a variety of media from pencils, to oil and chalk pastel, biro, pen, charcoal and paint.

As there was very low attendance pupils added finishing touches to their posters. The Christmas  life drawing exam results were given out.


Homework
Pupils must complete a portrait drawing of either themselves or of someone they know. Pupils must spend at least an hour on their drawing and focus on the facial features, qualities of line and tone. The drawing will be marked based on personal response, line, tone, proportion and detail.
